These are images of a floating cinema commissioned for the Thailand Film Festival and designed by architect Ole Scheeren. A new take on drive-in and outdoor cinemas, must say would be the ultimate movie date.

I stumbled across this project sometime last year, and recently I got reminded of it. The Johnny Cash project is a fan-driven concept to create the visuals to Johnny Cash’s Ain’t No Grave by creating an online interface where people can sketch, draw, and create a single frame. It’s live, interactive and the effect of the artwork to Cash’s voice is just really powerful.

This a project by design firm Original Vision located in Phuket. The house as a series of platforms off a cliff face in order to maximize the experience of living between the ocean and the mountain face. I personally love this project because the indoor and outdoor living space is balanced really well over 3 floors and the formal aesthetic is very understated. The design is clearly centered around the view and the experience.

These images are of two personal projects by architect Robert Stone in the California desert. Robert had the vision of developing modern sanctuaries in the desert for people who need to just get a break from the city. With no funding and no investors, he ended up building them solo and the results are pretty epic.
